I know I said that this blog is dedicated to make-up and skincare, but it does go hand in hand with everything fashion and I found a great little fashion site on the web. It’s only new (start of 2010) but it already has some great articles, including some on the new Alexander Wang A/W Collection ( http://theefashionbrigade.blogspot.com/2010/02/alexander-wang-fw-10-backstage ) and Madonna’s Apparel line.
If you’re fashion savvy I think this could be a good site for you to check out!
Skin Therapy 3 in 1 Fragrance free Facial Wipes “Gently Cleanse, tone and moisturise delicate skin”.
These face wipes (or “drunk wipes” as they are sometimes known!) are a bit of a cheat when it comes to skin care and won’t replace the real thing, but on nights when you’ve had a really long day (or too much to drink!?) it’s sometimes nice to simply wipe away the majority of your make-up and daily grime and flop into bed!
You can buy these in places like Wilkinsons, they don’t cost the earth and they can come in really handy. I bought a couple of packs for travelling with as I thought they would be easier for when we were camping and driving around and they were great to have when my cleanser and toner was in a bag in the boot of the car somewhere or buried amongst a suitcase full of clothes.
I have quite sensitive skin and I have never had a reaction to these wipes, and they definately manage to take off my make-up although sometimes I have to use 2 to make sure. Not sure if that says more about my make-up than the wipes!?!
As I mentioned I would never swap my entire skincare set-up just for these, but some times they are just too easy to ignore!

Designed to give you great lenght that will last all day.
I’ve been using this mascara since I first tried it about a year ago. I love the length and thickness you can get from it and I love that I don’t need to worry about it running or coming off as it definately stays put until you take it off (I’ve been swimming in it a few times!).
It takes a minute or two to take it off as the instructions are to dampen a cotton pad and hold it onto your lashes for 30 seconds before wiping the mascara off, and it can be a bit messy as the tubes the mascara creates around your lashes don’t seem to want to give up the fight too easily, leaving you with little black bits here and there, but for me the extra time taking it off is totally out weighed by the look you can get from it as I love long, thick lashes.
I found a nice post about this book at www.flourishover50.com/2010/02/how-not-to-look-old/ written by a women in her 50’s (the age group this book is aimed at) and I thought it might be nice for you to read something written by someone from the targeted audience.
Being in my late twenties doesn’t stop me wondering about how I’ll fair as the years fly by. Will my skin stand the test of time? Is my lifestyle healthy enough to keep me glowing in old age? Who knows? All we can do is try our best, look after ourselves the best we can and listen to advice from those in the know!
This book was clearly written for all the mature women out there and is aimed at actually making changes to your wardrobe, cosmetics and the way you view yourself. It suggests that there is no better time than now to make yourself into the woman you always hoped you’d be – stylish, confident and fashion savvy- and knocking years off of your appearence.
For all intense purposes this a very blunt, straight to the point book and I don’t nessessarily have the same views on some topics, but a good read non the less for women in their 50’s and over who feel a change in style is on the cards.

In general I’ve always liked Olay products, even back when it was Oil of Ulay, and this is no exception. It seems a little heavier than other moisturisers with a “hint of foundation” but it blends nicely and gives a really natural finish. It has spf 15 which is great for everyday usage any time of year, especially as we head towards spring when we’re not nessessarily thinking about the damage we can get from what little sun we get! Definately a useful, good quality product for those who like a nice light coverage.
Just a little note to say I hope everyone has a lovely day, whether you celebrate Valentines in the traditional way or not! (We don’t, we call it Steak Day and treat ourselves to some lovely pieces of steak that we wouldn’t ordinarily buy due to price, haha!)
